Fred Driscoll is the Director, Risk Financing and Captive Operations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). Fred is a Risk Management professional with over 30 years of experience. In his current role, Fred is directly responsible for the insurance and risk financing programs for BCBSM and its subsidiaries. Fred also manages the daily operations of Woodward Straits Insurance Company (WSIC), a wholly owned captive insurance subsidiary domiciled in Michigan. WSIC is the second largest (by annual revenues) Michigan captive and contributes both financially and strategically to the consolidated organization. Directly prior to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Fred was the Director, Risk Financing at Lifetime Healthcare, Inc. (Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield) the Blue plan for upstate New York. Fred has been the senior risk person at both for profit and not for profit entities including a Fortune 100 financial services company. Fred has is bachelors degree in Insurance from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. He also serves as a member of the advisory for the insurance program at Ferris. Dedicated to the advancement of the discipline and acts a member of the board of directors of the Detroit Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
